Snowbird's Week 13

LCC's Week 13- Bombs, Faceshots and Deep Snow!!!
The famous week 13 is enjoyed by my crazy family each year. As our Iron Blossam timeshare week never fails us, this year was huge with bombs, deep snow and some unreal conditions. The best part is after my hiatus of nearly four months from knee surgery, I made my way back to ski in this crazy storm cycle. Here are the numbers... 12 days, 160 inches of snow!!!
There were a ton of images captured and this was really hard to narrow it do to my favorites, but here they are. Enjoy!!!

Bluebird Day!!!

With a decent amount of snow falling last week, we enjoyed some family time and the peace and quite of the backcountry. On Saturday, I put myself into position to capture my wife and SAI athletes Scott Peart and Derick Faller as they earned their turns hiking. The time was well spent and the weather was absolutely beautiful. Even though my knee isn't ready to ski yet, these guys skied a few turns for me and then aired it out for a little while. I simple enjoyed being out in the mountains and can't wait to ski again.

By the way, watching my wife make her tele turns look so smooth and effortless was the highlight. Babe you rip!!!

Winter fun, yet not in the snow!!!

I recently underwent knee surgery to repair my ACL, lateral and medial Meniscus. All is well and at I am doing great. This is has been a good thing!!! I am glad that my badly banged up knee will be right and before long I hope to be back out skiing and riding with the crew. The injury hasn't kept me down and away from any shooting though. We have had a lot of interesting fun in the last month that I have been laid up. We recently rented out a tumbling gym and foam pit and enjoyed a lot of craziness from all who came. We are also setting up some winter shots with some athletes that will sure to please!! Stay tuned...
The last shot is what I keep thinking about until I am healthy. Nothing like a fall ride with the boys!!!

Dirt Jumping in PC

Once again, Park City's fall days create some awesome riding and cool shots. The right light, tacky dirt and great riders helped to create another quality photo session at the dirt jump park.
Riders were laying it over, throwing down big three's, no footers, knack-knacks with a couple huge no footed can-cans. It was a great shoot and I am stoked for another session if the weather holds out as the forcasters are saying.

No Footed Can

Park City in the fall is the best time of year. The town is quiet and the local riding spots are awesome with the damp mornings making the dirt super tacky. This makes the PC Dirt Jumps perfect!!! A special thanks to Eric Porter, Derek Thomson and Scott Peart for making this past summer at the park so rad. We pulled off an awesome jump jam a couple weeks back and are getting some final sessions in before the snow hits. With fall days like today, it is hard to think that its about over.

Park City Dirt Jump Jam

On October 4th, I am putting on a Dirt Jump Jam. This is going to be a fun event with some top freeride mountain bikers on hand. The likes of Eric Porter, Gale Dahlager, Scott Peart, Fuzzy Hall, Derek Thomson and others will be there to spend a couple hours riding and hanging out. This is going to be a fun event with some sponsors giving away products as well as some big stuff like a bike from Haro. Stop by the Park City Dirt Jump Park on Saturday the 4th!
And yes it is FREE!!!

Jeep 48STRAIGHT King of the Mountain

This past weekend was the Jeep 48Straight King of the Mountain race here in Park City, Utah. The top downhill mountain bike racers from around the world were on hand to compete for a big cash purse. Recently crowned World Cup Champion Greg Minnaar from South Africa won the title with the last few runs in the pouring rain. A friend of mine and Cannondale Cut rider, Chris Van Dine put down some good laps in the finals but a crash took him out of contention as he finished 6th. Action Sports legend, Shaun Palmer was also there not only as a spectator but as a competitor.
